ABOUT THE AUTHOR

“I shoot not what I see, but what looks at me. The world is richer than my understanding of it”

Yuriy Kosin was a Ukrainian photographer, lecturer, curator of exhibitions, and traveler. Kosin was a member of the National Society of Photo Artists of Ukraine, tutor and curator at the Independent Academy of the Photographic Arts of Ukraine, organizer and curator of the "Eksar" photo gallery, Ukraine.  In the 1980s, Yurii Kosin developed his own creative method, a particular authorial language of photography, which he called transgression. It is based, on the one hand, on the artist’s vision of the world and, on the other hand, on the appropriate treatment of photographic material. Since 1985 he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Ukraine, Latvia, the United States, Great Britain, Germany and other countries.
